I think the Bounty Hunter trinket in CoM is trash, yet I love the Crusader trinket. I love a fair few of the CoM trinkets as well, along with hate. I love the Occultist Set because it makes him quick and deadly. I absolutely hate the Glass Shard Set trinket for Flag and the set bonus is terrible in my eyes. It is just an endless mode, so it can be a bit boring if you play it too much, but overall it adds a nice new way to play.Īlso, trinkets are hit or miss depending on how you play. They are a nice break from my endless standard quests running. Originally posted by El:As for Color of Madness, some people say it's good, some say the trinkets are worse than Crimson Court's and not really worth it. There are fantastic (and terrible) trinkets from every aspect of the game, vanilla included, so someone saying an entire category of trinkets are JUST X or Y ((from any version of DD) are literally talking out of their backside. There are no absolutes, so I'd avoid reviews that treat it as such. Neither is particularly punishing - you are given ample opportunity to prepare for the harder task ahead, but not for free, yet that cost isn't a concern to those who can manage stress.Īs for Color of Madness, some people say it's good, some say the trinkets are worse than Crimson Court's and not really worth it. Do you accept a constant hit to stress-relief activities and a frequent event that butts in over other potential events (positive or negative) in exchange for absolutely no risk of infection, or do you unlock the court and invite the wrath of infestation and eventual infection in return for class-based trinkets as early as apprentice level?

You say it like it's a bad thing, yet it does its job perfectly. All DLC adds extra layers to the veritable onion of the game and give you more to do and more to think about (at a quality that is just above vanilla).Ĭrimson court interfere with the town events, locking in an annoying event which prevent the others. It was fine on release and is still fine - the problem is in how people approach it, much like standard reviews or the usual 'RNG' drivel. I keep seeing reviews complaining about Crimson Court messing up the rest of the game and being badly implemented in general. All DLC for Darkest Dungeon is entirely worth it if you truly enjoy the base game, but they're not going to change your opinion if you're not enjoying it.
